Using your God-given gifts to sacrificially support one another.

We invite you to experience the joy of building up the Body of Christ as you serve alongside others in the church. Not only will your God-given gifts be an encouragement to others, but you will be encouraged as you build relationships with those you work alongside.

In 1 Peter 4 each one of us is encouraged to “use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms…, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.” We strive to offer opportunities where you can discover, use, and develop your gifts in a way that serves others and glorifies God.

Different seasons of life allow for different capacities to serve. Without feeling any pressure, consider how God might be calling you to join a Serve Team.

Serve Team Opportunities

Music Ministry

Do you have any gifting and passion for the area of music ministry? Perhaps you are a musician or singer or both! If so, are you interested in joining the Grace Church worship team? In addition to spending a little time during the week practicing and preparing on your own, we generally meet at 8:30am on Sunday mornings for rehearsal. Such a commitment, however, does not necessarily entail participating every single Sunday. Experience and skill level are important, but we are also willing to work with individuals who are still in the process of learning…

Sound Technician

Do you have experience running sound or would you like to learn how to run sound? Responsibilities include arriving by 8:20am on Sunday mornings to run a sound check with the worship team and then run sound during the service. Occasionally you will be asked if you are available to serve at a special service (Good Friday, Christmas Eve, etc.). Currently we have a greater need for volunteers with some experience, but we are willing to work with those who have a desire to learn.

Media Technician

Running projection slides is a great way to help the church worship together and you don’t even need advanced computer skills to do it! Responsibilities include arriving by 9:20am on Sunday mornings to run through the slides with the team, make any adjustments, and run the slides during the service. Slides are prepared in advance. Occasionally you will be asked if you are available to serve at a special service (Good Friday, Christmas Eve, etc.). We hope to have a rotation of volunteers that would serve about once a month.

Children’s Church

Do you enjoy working with kids? Do you have a heart to share the Gospel with children? Our children’s ministry is divided into four groups: Toddlers (2-3 years), Preschool-1st Grade, 3rd-5th Grades, and 6th-8th Grades. Those working in this ministry would be responsible for teaching one of these groups of children during the sermon (approx. 45 minutes) one month each quarter—or less often if we have an abundance of volunteers. Class size is typically between 5-10 children. Teacher responsibilities include lesson prep, classroom prep, and teaching the children using The Gospel Project for Kids curriculum materials. Experience teaching children and church membership is required for teachers, but those without experience, who are not yet church members, or who are students are welcome to serve as helpers. To help provide a safe environment for our children, all volunteers in the children’s ministry must complete the application process and pass a background check.

Greeters & Ushers

Do you enjoy people and making them feel welcomed? Then you may enjoy serving as a greeter or usher. Volunteers should arrive by 9:40am and usually serve once a month unless there is a special service. No prior experience necessary.

Coffee & Refreshment Fellowship

Do you know your way around a kitchen? Make a great cup of coffee? Perhaps you would like to use your gift of hospitality by volunteering on the coffee fellowship team. We would gladly speak with you about training and the responsibilities entailed with setup and cleanup tasks.

On the fourth Sunday of each month, we try to enhance our time of coffee fellowship with the addition of refreshments. We invite anyone who would like to contribute in this way to bring a treat and drop them off in the kitchen prior to the worship service.

Seasonal Decorating Team

Do you enjoy decorating for different holidays and seasons? What catches your eye when you walk into a room? What do you think looks inviting in our church building? What ideas do you have to improve the decorating aspects of our church facilities—in the foyer, sanctuary, fellowship hall, etc.? We invite you to use your gift of hospitality to help create a warm and welcoming environment for all who enter our doors.

Facilities Team

Do you have a knack for tackling facility maintenance projects and minor repairs? Just like many of our own homes, our church also has a “honey do list”—some indoor (changing furnace filters and light bulbs, cleaning/organizing the basement, moving chairs/bulletin boards, etc.), some outdoor (planting flowers, pulling weeds, trimming bushes, pruning trees, etc.), some seasonal (snow blowing the sidewalks around the building and property, clearing exterior doors of snow by shoveling, mowing the lawn, refreshing mulch, etc.). If you have a hand to lend, we will gladly welcome you to the team!

Van Driver for Inspiration Ministries Residents

Every Sunday morning volunteers pick up members of our church family who reside at Inspiration Ministries (IM) which is located at N2270 WI-67 in Walworth. Responsibilities include picking up the residents using a van provided by IM and then dropping them off after the worship activities. To serve in this capacity you must complete the IM volunteer application and background check, be at least 18 years of age, have a clean driving record, and attend a 3-hour training session with the Transportation Coordinator to learn about the IM vehicles and loading instructions.
