Adult Discipleship

Connect Groups

When Jesus made disciples, He did not invite people into a program but instead invited people into a relationship. At Grace Church, we desire to follow Jesus’ example of relational discipleship.

Our Connect Groups are designed to encourage this kind of Jesus-like disciple-making friendship. Leaders are trained to not only facilitate scripture-based discussion but also foster a communal environment where people can grow in friendship together as they learn, serve, and reach others with the Good News of Jesus.

What?

Connect Groups are typically made up of 8-12 individuals. The age and demographics of the groups vary from group to group. The content used in these groups is the Scripture passage from the previous sermon. Connect Groups use the 7 Arrows for studying the Bible as a guide for their discussion.

When + Where?

Groups are encouraged to meet weekly at people’s homes or at the church. When and where these groups meet is determined by the groups themselves. Each group has an on- and off-ramp of 6-8 weeks. Groups are encouraged to pause between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day and also during the summer months.

Why?

We believe that growing in your vertical relationship with God is often correlated with your horizontal growth in relationship with God’s people. While we rally around the sermon Scripture passage as the content for discussion, our desire is that the culture of these groups would reflect our four values as a church:

  • WORSHIP - Gathering for worship and scattering for a life of worship. Prayerfulness with one another and spurring one another to live a life of worship.

  • GROW - Becoming more like Jesus together. Growing in our relationship with God as we study His Word together. Growing in spiritual friendships with one another.

  • SERVE - Using your God-given gifts to sacrificially support one another. Intentionally meeting the felt needs of others in the group.

  • REACH- Living and speaking the Good News of Jesus locally and globally. Working together to creatively live and speak the Good News of Jesus to those in our sphere of influence.

If you are interested in joining a group, please fill out the Connect Card expressing your interest and we will be sure to follow up with you!

Young Mom’s Group

As Christian mothers we believe there is a need to support each other in a world that is begging us to look everywhere but the gospel. We know that the Gospel restores lives and the Young Mom’s Group is here to help moms in worship, growth, service, and outreach. It can be hard navigating this world and the demands of family life with a gospel-centered worldview. Join us as we study Scripture and learn from others through books and podcasts on how to become Godly women for our families.
