We believe that the Bible is relevant for our lives today and so we prioritize our time in it. Our worship through music uses a blend of beloved songs of the faith along with contemporary expressions. We encourage authentic relationships because we believe that God’s grace covers all of our sin. Classes and different ministries for all ages help in the process of connecting and growing. We believe that helping our young people know the love of Jesus is vital to the church, and we value their involvement in the body life of the church. We believe that God has a work for us not only in Walworth, but throughout the world which is why we are committed to spreading the good news around the world through supported missionaries as well as short term missions trips.
Grace is affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America, an association of over 1,500 churches that bears a common Statement of Faith and yet each church is distinct. This association brings with it great opportunities for church health and multiplication. To learn more about the EFCA, please click here.
One of the most common questions we are asked is, "What does 'Evangelical Free' mean?" The pamphlet "This is the EFCA" (Reprinted 2017) explains the answer to this question best:
"The term Evangelical refers to our commitment to the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ and to the Scriptures as being inerrant in the original writings, the complete and sufficient revelation of God's will for salvation, and the ultimate authority by which every realm of human knowledge and endeavor should be judged. For us, this means the Bible can be trusted in all it teaches in any subject it addresses.
"The term Free refers to our form of church government which assures that our local churches are free from a central controlling body. EFCA churches depend upon the active participation of pastors and lay people in the decisions and direction of the local church."
Grace Church exists to glorify God by proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ and by growing believers into mature followers of Him.
To be a compassionate community of Christ followers humbly serving others by providing essential support ministries to families, today, and vital Christian leadership in our communities, tomorrow.
